Most of us are familiar with the word Covenant (meaning: a formal agreement between two or more persons or entities).
An Ecclesiastical Covenant is a solemn agreement between the members of a church to act together in harmony with the precepts of the gospel.
This is what takes place when we join a church. Basically, we covenant or agree to be an active part of the church and the church agrees to welcome us and help us to grow in spirit.
Our membership in a church is something that we should celebrate and lift up, not only when we initially become members but on a regular basis. It helps us to reconnect with who we are within the church and take a look at how we have grown in our spiritual life, our missional life, where we need to be strengthened and where we need to challenge ourselves.
During the month of November, we will have the opportunity to do just that. Each Sunday will be a different theme on Living our Covenant: Living our Heritage, Living the Gospel, Living Faithfully, Living Thankfully, and Living Expectantly. And each Sunday, you will have the opportunity to renew your membership by signing the Covenant Membership book.
